Life

Back to work

In my post yesterday I briefly touched on the fact that in the last few days I had a job interview that went really well. Well enough in fact that they offered me the job later on that same day.

It’s at my local university and will see me in a role that’s a bit similar to what I was doing down in London but then quite a bit different too. I like this a lot, I’m always up for new challenges but having some familiarity will make the transition into a new team and new setting that much easier.

When I made the decision to move back home if you’d have asked me what the dream scenario for the future looked like this is pretty much exactly it so I’m feeling pretty lucky. I’d have loved the process of getting to here to take a little less time, but at the same time while it’s been a real slog of never ending application filling out I’ve also been able to spend some quality time with friends and family and really settle back in back home. I’ve got a couple of weeks until I start so I’m going to fill that time with as much activity as I can while I wait to be able to get sat at my new desk and start learning my new role.
