Voting’s closed over at Fiction Express for this week so it’s time for me to share my thoughts on the latest chapter of Sharon Gosling’s Rémy Brunel and the Ocean of Light. Please be aware there are spoilers ahead for the chapter.
The second chapter opens with Rémy about to be caught by Thaddeus and Collins, but she is saved by the alarms sounding down in the hall below. The alarm works as a wonderful set up for Rémy to fulfil her mission of stealing the Darya-ye Noor, reading it I felt like my heart was in my mouth! Once she had escaped I found myself thinking it had all been a little too easy, no sooner had I finished thinking it the plot started twisting. A couple of the reveals that came in this chapter didn’t surprise me, but the motivation behind Gustave’s desire for the diamond definitely did. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing what happens next week.
Faced with the choice for chapter 3 I would choose for Rémy to escape through the trapdoor and go in search of Lord Abernathy and the real jewel.
What did you think of the new chapter? Do you agree with my choice?
Great reviews! I voted the same as you too – I can’t wait for chapter 3! I am hosting a giveaway on my blog to win a copy of Remy, if you are interested. I love your reviews!
