Meme

Questions galore.

It has been some time since I’ve done a meme on here, I try not to do them too often but I saw this one on Budgie’s blog and thought it had some interesting questions. I’ve put it under a cut as there are a fair few questions, feel free to click through! I did run out of steam towards the end and gave up on some of the more tricky questions.

Is there someone in your life you know you’d be better off without?
I have a couple of flatmates who I think I’d be better of without. One just raises my stress levels on a regular basis which I could do without, and the other is downright evil. Living in shared accommodation seems to always be about having challenging people in your vicinity, maybe if the two of them were gone the alternatives would be worse still.

Do you get criticized because of your body?
One family member feels she has the right. But generally I’m the only one criticising myself because of my body.

How much did you weigh when you were born?
8lb 4oz. It’s strange really, my brother weighed similar but was a much longer, leaner baby. These days he’s tall and slim and I’m short and padded – things really haven’t changed.

Did you kiss the last person you called?
No, it was someone at my bank!

When was the last time you danced?
I think it was at the SF Ball in 2009. I don’t very often dance at all, I’m not above clutching onto whatever furniture is nearby with a death grip to prevent being dragged onto a dance floor.

When was the last time you jumped on a trampoline?
When I was in middle school, so about 15 years ago.

Do you keep in mind other people’s feelings?
I certainly try hard to, probably too much sometimes.

Are any of your friends pregnant?
Not as far as I know. Any one planning any announcements??

If you have a hang nail, do you pull it or clip it?
Pull it.

Who do you want to forget?
No one.

Who was the last person to send you a letter?
My grandad. When I was at university last time he and my granny wrote letter regularly. She’s no longer with us so I feel like I’m appreciating his letters all the more. I have all of the letters they’ve written in a box, I haven’t re-read hers since she died but I know that one day I will and I’m sure I’ll get a lot from doing so.

How much money is in your wallet?
Not very much, I tend to carry as little cash as possible.

When’s the last time you did laundry?
Last week.

How far have you gotten with the book you are reading?
About 100 pages in. I’ve been finding it hard going but I think I’ve just about got into it now.

Who did you last tell to shut up?
My flatmate. I was attempting to kick him out of my room because he was being downright insulting and I didn’t want him in my room any more.

What’s the last thing that you smelt that smelt bad?
One of my flatmate’s bedrooms, I really don’t want to be walking past again when he opens his door.

What’s your favourite book at the moment?
Oh I couldn’t possibly pick just one.

What’s your favourite cereal?
I eat rice crispies, but that’s only because they’re the best of a bad bunch. I’m not very fond of breakfast cereal.

How do you feel when people lead you on, but they don’t even like you?
It takes me a while to realise what’s happened and then I just feel hurt.

Could you live without sunlight?
No I don’t think I could.

What’s something you know is bad, but you want to do it anyway?
Eat chocolate for every meal.

What was the last thing you lied about?
My health.

Who is your number two on speed dial?
I’ve never set up speed dial on any of the phones I’ve owned.

Do you regret anything you’ve done in the past week?
Absolutely.

What was the last movie you bought?
The Reckoning, I’m on a mission to watch everything Tom Hardy has been in.

What is a sport you would like to do?
There are many I would love to be able to do, but the one I really wish I could do at least competently is swimming. I can swim but I’m not very good at it, and so I don’t bother enough.

When was the last time you felt like crying?
Yesterday, and I did.

Have you ever wanted to kill someone?
No.

What was the last song you listened to that wasn’t sung in English?
I listen to Radio Ceredigion which is a bilingual radio station so I hear songs in Welsh on a daily basis.

What did you last draw?
Draw properly? Probably in school. I doodle lots and dream of being able to draw but the drawing genes went to my brother. It’s been a source of frustration for many years.

What TV show would you like to be on?
I wouldn’t want to be on any, I can’t imagine much worse to be honest.

If you could choose a Pokemon, who would you pick?
As I have to explain to my much younger flatmates on a regular basis my Pokemon knowledge begins and ends with Pikachu. Other than knowing of his (I assume Pikachu is male but have no basis for his) existence I know nothing about Pokemon so I could only pick him.

Is Chuck Norris really as great as he seems?
Maybe?

What was the last video game you played?
The second Professor Layton game.

Have you ever been in a musical?
On stage? Twice, once as a young child and once at high school. I moved off the stage after that year and after a year on the tech crew moved into the orchestra for three musicals. I loved that and wish it was something I could do again.

Do you follow your own style or everyone else’s?
My own take on everyone else’s.

What’s the last store you bought from?
CK’s, a Nisa supermarket just off campus.

Do people use you a lot?
Yes, though less so now because I tend to be more suspicious of people’s motivations and watch out for it.

What are you doing two days from now?
That will be Saturday. Very little, I’m going home for a few days with the plan of rest.

Are there any teachers at your school that dislike you?
When I was at school there definitely were. Particularly once I made the decision I didn’t want to apply for Oxbridge, there were a number of teachers who had been very friendly and helpful who never said another word to me.

Did you ever believe there were monsters in your closet?
Not monsters, no. Robbers? Absolutely.

Do you let random people sign your yearbook?
No, but we had a tradition in the musicals that I did that everyone had a copy of the programme and got everyone else to sign it.

Would you adopt a child that had a mental illness?
It’s not something I’ve ever given any thought to, but I can’t see any reason why I wouldn’t. Becoming a parent is something that is very important to me and I’m aware that with my assortment of health difficulties having my own biological children may not be the route I’m able to take. If you have your own biological children you have no idea of what the future may hold for them so I can’t see why it’s okay to be more choosy if you’re adopting.

Does thinking about death scare you?
Sometimes.

If you died, would you go to Heaven or Hell?
Who knows.

Do you lick envelopes or tape them shut?
I buy self adhesive so that I don’t have to lick them. If they’re on a birthday card that’s going in the post I reluctantly lick them, if the card’s being hand delivered I tuck the flap in.

Do you care what people say or think about you?
Yes, far more than I should.

Have you ever had surgery?
A few times yes.

Have you ever been threatened?
Yes.

My mom’s side. I’m very much like her family and my brother is very strongly like my dad’s family.

What was the last thing you drank?
Coffee.

Have you ever kept a relationship a secret?
No.

How much do you weigh?
The joy of being at university is that there are no bathroom scales so I don’t know. I do know that it’s more than I should, but the combination of living in a very hilly place and eating smaller portions seems to be helping with that.

How much do you want to weigh?
I don’t have any set target in mind, just less than I do now.

What street do you live on?
I don’t live on a street.

What is a quote that you love?
“I would rather be passionate about something than apathetic about everything. To be geek is to be human.” Masi Oka.

Do you think of pure hate as human created?
Yes.

When was the last time you wanted to scream?
Yesterday afternoon. I was in a car dealership at the time so I managed to resist.

Would you give a million dollars to charity if you had two million?

Not often enough.

At the pot of the gold with all the leprechauns and unicorns.

Yes.

Is pride a good or a bad thing?
Neither and both.

What is the purpose of life?
Not a clue.
