Well things with me have taken a sudden turn for the better, something I’ve not been used to for some time now. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been noticing that I’m starting to feel more like my old self, and my energy levels are finally getting back to somewhere approaching normal.
The upshot of this has been that over the last two weekends I’ve driven to Northampton and London, in the latter trip I did over 300 miles in just over 24 hours. It was only a matter of weeks ago that the idea of driving outside of the immediate area felt like an insurmountable challenge.
This progress has also meant that when I was in a local pub last week and saw a sign advertising that they wanted waitresses I applied, and ended up getting the job. I started my new job yesterday. The plan is for me to work full time, which at this pub means 5-6 hour shifts 5 days a week, doing a mixture of waitressing and bar work. It all went well yesterday, I don’t like it all that much at the moment but that’s because I don’t know what I’m doing and I hate that awkward feeling. I know from previous jobs that within a couple of shifts this will pass so I’m not too worried, and it’s only going to be for a few months until I head off to Aberystwyth. Interestingly in the previous jobs like this I’ve had I’ve never liked the landlord and lady, and this one looks like it could well be exactly the same.
Oh that’s fantastic you’re feeling so much better and able to work. I hope you settle in quickly and can cope with the landlord/lady. And if it’s still not that brilliant, at least it won’t be for long and you’re earning some cash. *thumbs up*
Thank you. And yes I think the fact it’s a short term fill means I’m not worrying about not liking them.
