After spending most of the weeks around Christmas cross stitching cards and coasters I decided it was time for a change in crafty pursuit. After spending lots of time browsing the forums on Craftster I decided to try my hand at making plush toys out of felt.
This was my first attempt:
It took me an afternoon to make, the pattern is really simple and it went together like a dream. The only reason I stopped after making one was finding space to keep them!
I then started to make things out of this book once I’d worked out how to order from Amazon in Japan. There are lots of different designs, and then variations you can choose for each one. They do tend to be on the cute side, there are some that are just too cutesy for me to ever consider making. So far I’ve made sea creatures, robots and spaceships and a random assortment of other things. I’m not going to make any more for a little while now. I need to decide on what to do with the ones I’ve made before I make any more. The book suggests making them into keyrings, bag charms, push pins (particularly the frog heads) or putting them on wires to poke into plant pots. Anyone got any other ideas?
